Pumpkin Patch

Thursday, Courtney and I met up with some friends of ours and went to the Honey Suckle Hill Farm down the road from our house.  It was a little soggy from all the rain we've had, but it turned out to be a fun day.  Courtney LOVED the swing sets and even managed to get herself stuck in one, which of course, I had to climb up and get her out of.  She also loved the see saw and getting to pick out her very own pumpkin in the pumpkin patch.  The hay ride was fun along with getting to see all the animals in the petting zoo.  It was $6 per person and worth every penny.  You can check out their website at

Courtney and Jacob playing on the see-saw.

Courtney was fascinated with the pigs, but they smelled terrible.

The bunnies decided to get VERY friendly with one another while we were there, so we had to come up a quick explanation of why they were "wrestling".

Courtney called the calf a "baby moo-moo".

Courtney hee-hawed back at the donkeys and this one decided to check her out.

This is the HUGE slide that Courtney decided to get herself stuck in and guess who had to get her out?

Courtney was exhausted by the time we got to the pumpkin patch to pick out her pumpkin.  Can you tell by her eyes?

Jacob led the way down the slide...

and Courtney followed.

3 Years Ago Today....

we officially closed on our house and moved in.  I was VERY pregnant at the time and I remember "waddling" in to the mortgage office, signing papers, and getting our keys to the house we built together.  We still can't believe it's been 3 years since we moved in, but those 3 years have been a blast!

FYI - This picture is from last Christmas and no, we haven't decorated for the holidays yet.

Weight Watchers (Week 4)

Mom and I just completed week 4 of Weight Watchers and I have lost a total of 5.2 pounds.  I know it doesn't sound like much, but at this point I'll take what I can get.  Anyway, after next month my goal is to have off at least 12 pounds total, so hopefully I can reach that goal.  My biggest inspiration has come from watching The Biggest Loser on Tuesday nights and it has quickly become one of my favorite TV shows.  If you have never watched it before, give it a shot especially if your trying to lose some weight like I am.  I'm sure you'll agree that watching the contestants on the show are very motivating.

I'm already finding myself getting into the Christmas spirit, so I have changed the blog background and I'm making plans for this year's Christmas Village Craft Show.  Just to let everyone know, Christmas Village is at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds starting November 13-15.  Tickets are $7 in advance and $8 at the door. You can check out the website at

A Day At The Park

Thursday, Uncle Chris, Angie, Courtney, and myself went down the street to Balthrop Park to enjoy the afternoon.  Of course, I took my camera and got a few pictures of Courtney enjoying the beautiful day.  We finally convinced Courtney that the spiral slide wasn't that scary and that she could do it all by herself, which she did.  It was still a little muddy from all the rain we've had, but none the less, it was a great day!
